The SF Bay Area Hiking group aims at providing volunteer-organized hikes in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. Anyone who is into hiking, camping, and backpacking is welcome to join the group and even organize hikes. We plan to have hikes of all difficulty levels in this group. We also will have a couple of big mountain trips every year. These trips are meant for enjoying the wilderness with like minded people and are organized in an informal manner.
All trip costs are split among participants. The details of the cost estimate for each trip will be mentioned in the page for that activity. Details of trips that require permits and more planning will be sent out a few months in advance. Day hikes may be planned closer to the actual date. Trip leaders are not responsible for the safety of the people going for the trips nor are they liable should anything happen to you. It’s your responsibility to be aware of the safety procedures when hiking or backpacking.
