Don't send
jokes and chain email to this alias but do send outdoors
related mail that you find interesting to the alias.
-
Do organize
hikes on your own instead of waiting for others and
when doing so, give everybody at least a 2 day notice
for the activity.
-
When you
organize hikes, please send all details such as length,
approx. hiking time, a brief description of the trail,
elevation gain, etc. Use this template
as a guide.
-
Be warned
that the difficulty rating of most hiking books may
not be the same for everyone. So, if you have not
hiked before and/or do not believe that you are in
good shape, start with the shorter hikes and then
slowly move on to the tougher ones. Most of us are
much better off now than we were in the beginning.
-
For long
and short hikes, bring lots of drinking water and
a snack or lunch.
-
Bring your
camera. Most of the hikes we do are in beautiful places.
-
If you have
any questions regarding hiking, camping etc., you
might find the answer from someone on the alias. Do
not hesitate to ask.
-
The organizers
are just providing you with guidelines regarding a
hike/trail and nothing more. You are responsible for
your own safety.
-
For hiking
and backpacking I have found this checklist
useful when choosing what to take.
- If you want to add someone
on the alias or remove yourself please send me email
and I will take care of it.
